Philly Cheese Burger

Dominas Akron

In burger form, you can enjoy the tastes of a traditional Philly cheesesteak. Onions and bell peppers are sauted and then topped with melted provolone cheese. The burgers are served on a toasted bun with creamy mayonnaise.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat grill to medium-high heat

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat

Add sliced onions and bell peppers, season with salt and pepper, and saut until softened and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes

Remove from heat and set aside

Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form them into burger patties

Season both sides with salt and pepper

Place burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired level of doneness

During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of provolone cheese on each patty and close the grill to melt the cheese

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each burger bun

Assemble the burgers by placing a cheese-covered patty on the bun, then topping with the caramelized onions and bell peppers

Complete the burgers with the top bun and serve hot
