  • 1 lb 450g flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup 60ml fresh lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Corn tortillas
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
  • Salsa and lime wedges, for serving

Instructions:

Put minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl

Add lime juice and mix well

Put red onion and thinly sliced flank steak in a shallow dish or plastic bag that can be closed again

Cover the steak and onion with the marinade by pouring it over them

For better taste, seal the bag or cover the dish and put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes

Warm up your grill or grill pan on the stove by setting it on medium-high heat

For about two to three minutes on each side, or until done to your liking, grill the steak and onions that have been marinated

Take it off the heat and let it sit for a while

You can warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a dry skillet for about 20 seconds on each side while the steak rests

Make your street tacos by putting together thin strips of grilled steak

On each tortilla, put a few steak strips and grilled onions

Add some fresh cilantro leaves as a garnish

Add salsa and lime wedges to the side of your Street Tacos-Creole Contessa

Have fun
